Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do you take insurance?

No, I do not bill insurance directly. I can provide you with a superbill (a receipt for services provided) which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please note that insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis on the superbill. You will want to call your insurance ahead of time and confirm what they will cover for out of network therapy.

If you have an FSA or HSA credit card you are welcome to use those for payment.

2. What are your rates?

Individual therapy $200

Couples and family therapy $250

3. Do you offer a sliding scale?

I currently do not have any sliding scale slots available. If you would like to be informed of any sliding scale openings in the future, please join my email list.

4. Do I have to be in California?

Yes. My license dictates that I am only able to meet with you if you are in California.

5. How often do we meet and how long are sessions?

Typically, we meet once a week at a set time. We may also decide to meet more frequently if that would be beneficial to you. Sessions are 50 minutes long. You also have the option to request longer sessions, as having more time can be helpful for some people.

6. Can we meet every other week or as needed?

No. I only meet with clients on a regular weekly basis. Down the line, if you have met your goals in therapy, we can decrease the frequency of meetings to prepare for closure.

7. How long will we need to meet for?

The duration of your treatment depends on your goals, challenges, and level of commitment. Treatment can last anywhere from 6 months to two years or longer. Based on these factors, we will decide together what the best time frame is for your unique needs.

8. What is your cancellation policy?

In order to avoid being charged the full session fee, you are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance and may not exceed 4 cancellations per year.

9. What if I'm currently working with another therapist? Or what if I want to end therapy with you at some point?

I always encourage you to discuss termination with your current therapist before starting with a new therapist. It is an important part of the therapy process to communicate about your experience in therapy and have a conscious closure with your therapist, whether that be with me or another therapist.

10. How do you accept payment?

Your credit card on file will be charged after each session.

11. What treatment orientations and modalities do you use?

I utilize somatic experiencing, parts work, mindful self compassion, psychodynamic exploration, attachment theory, ecotherapy, and art therapy. I view my clients as naturally whole and wise, and my role as a guide to help them access their inner resources and health.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or would like to schedule a phone consultation to explore working together.
